After Independence, Crops Acreage and Production was assessed by Revenue Department through ordinary Crop Inspection. From July 1st 1984, an independent cell within Agriculture Extension Department was established and named as Agriculture Statistics Wing. Assumed the status of Attached Department w.e.f. 21.09.2010 and renamed as Crop Reporting Service.
